Today, It’s the birthday of Vinayaka Krishna Gokak. Born on 9 August 1909, Gokak was a major writer in the Kannada language and a scholar of English and Kannada literatures. The largest minority community, not only in India but also in the world, Parsis, are all set to celebrate their new year on today i.e, August 17. Pateti is celebrated on the eve of Parsi New Year.
